Privacy

We are also hosts, we take privacy very seriously.

Disclaimer

This extension is NOT affiliated with Airbnb. It was developed by Hugo, a regular Airbnb host and co-founder of Hostkit.pt, a software for vacation rentals trusted by many hosts in Portugal. The extension emerged from personal experience and it was developed with the sole intention to help all European hosts. Airbnb brand and logo are trademarks of Airbnb, Inc.

This extension was published on Chrome Web Store, meaning it was reviewed and approved by the Google team.

Single purpose

The purpose of our Chrome extension is to automate the downloading of Airbnb VAT invoices for European hosts.

VAT invoices are required for accounting purposes by European tax law (reverse-charge) but Airbnb does not provide tools for it. Instead it forces hosts to click each reservation, open a VAT invoice html page and PDF print it. This is absolutelly unnecessary and consumes hundreds of hours of manual work.

The extension is available for all EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

How does it work

Important note: The extension only works if you are logged in on your Airbnb account.

  • When you enter your reservation code(s), the extension opens the respective Airbnb reservation page(s) in new Chrome tab(s).
  • It then searchs within the reservations page(s) the ID of the Airbnb VAT invoice(s).
  • It then opens the Airbnb VAT invoice page(s) and sends to our servers the part of the content that belongs to the invoice. Invoice ID, name, address, date, property name, country, tax ID, tax rate and total amount.
  • Finally, we parse that information and put it together in a PDF for you.

Data collected

The extension DOESN’T SAVE any data of any sort. NO passwords, NO financials, NO nothing!

From the install, all the way to the opening of Chrome tabs, it all happens locally in your browser. The PDF processing happens in our servers but we immediatelly delete it after downloading. We also don’t save any personal data on any of our logs.

For the sake of transparency, here is the source code that guarantees exaclty that:

header(‘Content-Type: application/pdf’);
header(‘Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=”‘.trim($vatId).’_’.trim($reservationCode).’.pdf”‘);
header(‘Content-Length:’.filesize($file));
readfile($file);
unlink($file);

If you don’t understand it, read more on php.net what means unlink().
